The Elements of SEO: On Page and Off Page


In our previous post, we have explained what SEO or Search Engine Optimization is all about and what it the importance of it. This post is dedicated to the two elements or categories of SEO i.e. On page SEO and Off Page SEO.

Search engines are guided by complex algorithms to identify which link to include in their searches and which links shall come on top of searches. SEO is the language in which we can communicate with the search engines to explain about our link and aim to bring it on top rankings. SEO has two major components or elements:

On Page SEO and Off Page SEO

On Page SEO: On page SEO mainly consists of activities done on the webpage like putting content, meta tags, etc. The main activities that it includes are:
·         Adding Meta Tags
·         Putting Meta Description  
·         Giving appropriate Page titles
·         Including Body tags (H1, H2, etc.)
·         URL structure maintenance
·         Keyword density check
·         Appropriate Internal Linking
·         Alt Text and Descriptions for images on the webpage
·         Site maps, both XML and for visitors


Off Page SEO: Off page SEO mainly consists of activities done mainly outside the webpage to promote it. It includes activities such as:

·        
Directory submission
·         Article submission
·         Social Networking
·         Media Marketing
·         Social Bookmarking
·         Blog Commenting
·         Blog posting
·         Link Exchange, etc.
